RetailSuccess story

Grocery retail chain

How a twelve-store chain went from hand-built weekly reports to seeing each store's sales the same day.

The challenge

Sales scattered across spreadsheets and reports arriving a week late

The solution

Hourly loads from the points of sale plus a dashboard per store and for management

How we did it

We mapped the sources across all twelve stores and scheduled hourly loads from the points of sale, stock records and supplier orders. Every load runs through validation checks before it is published, so an incomplete reading never reaches the screen. On top of that we defined the sales, margin and stock-out metrics with a single formula for the whole chain. Each store manager gets a screen showing the day so far and the comparison with the same week last year, while head office works from the consolidated view of all twelve. Users move from chain total to a single product in three clicks, and the store managers tested the screens before rollout.

Testimonial

“We used to find stock problems on Friday, when it was already too late. We explained it once and the screen they delivered was already looking in the right place.”
