Migration & go-live
Your old data, cleaned up inside the new system, and the team using it from day one.
The challenge
What people really fear about changing systems is not the system: it is the day it goes live. Duplicated customers, stock that does not match the warehouse, delivery notes that turn up nowhere. And a team that, within the first week, goes back to the same old spreadsheet because at least there they can find things.
The solution
We clean and reconcile the data before moving it: duplicates, balances and dead references. We run a dry migration and check it against the old system, figure by figure, before the day that counts. We train each profile on their own real tasks and stay through the first weeks, until the system runs on its own.
It's for your company if…
- You have chosen the new system, but the data is still in the old one and nobody on the team has time to move it.
- You already attempted a system change and it stalled halfway: now both run in parallel and it is not defined which one is the reference.
- The vendor of the old program no longer supports it and every incident goes unanswered.
- The current system is only known in depth by the person who configured it years ago.
What's included
Cleaning and deduplication
We review customers, items and balances before moving anything and hand you the list of what is duplicated or obsolete: you decide what gets migrated and what gets archived.
A rehearsed migration
The full transfer runs first in a test environment and every step is written into a script: on go-live day we simply repeat a process that has already been proven.
Reconciliation signed off in writing
We produce a document with the totals for customers, stock and balances in both systems, and every difference explained one by one. It is approved before go-live, not after.
Training on your own data
Each profile is trained only on the part they will use, with exercises on their real customers and items, and a short manual for every role.
Go-live support
In the first days we answer questions on the spot and fix configuration issues as they surface, before they turn into bad habits.
How we do it
Audit of the old data
We extract the data from the old system and classify it against criteria agreed in writing: what gets migrated, what gets archived and what gets dropped.
Trial migration and reconciliation
We move the data into a test environment and compare totals against the old system until every difference is accounted for.
Supported go-live
The date is set with you, data entry in the old system is frozen, and the switch happens with direct support during the first days.
Training and closure
We train each profile on the system already loaded with their data and leave the old one in read-only mode, with an owner and a switch-off date.
Key benefits
A complete, reconciled migration
Real adoption by the team
A planned go-live
FAQ
Can any data get lost during the migration?
The reconciliation exists precisely to prevent it: every total in the new system is compared with the old one and differences are explained before go-live. The old system is also kept in read-only mode, so the original can always be checked.
Do we have to migrate years of history?
Usually not. What gets migrated is what people actually look up day to day; what must be kept for legal reasons can be archived outside the new system. The decision is made with the data inventory on the table.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on the volume and, above all, on the state of the data you start from. The free assessment includes a first review of the data and ends with a closed proposal for schedule and price.
What if something fails on go-live day?
There is a rollback plan: the old system is not switched off until the new one has been running and reconciling for a while. If needed, work continues on the old system while the problem is fixed, with nothing lost.
